Passion Behind Your Safety

Good safety advice should make your working day easier. It should help you understand what matters, what needs attention and what to do next.

That’s the approach behind JCH Safety.

Established in 2014, JCH Safety brings together health and safety consultancy, fire risk assessments and training with a personal, practical approach. We support businesses, schools, property managers and community organisations that need experienced advice without employing a full-time safety manager.

Meet Jonathan Hegarty

I’m Jonathan, founder and principal consultant at JCH Safety.

Over more than 20 years, I’ve worked across construction, refurbishment, education, warehousing and logistics. Those experiences have taught me that advice only works when it fits the people, premises and activities involved.

As a Chartered Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner and third-party accredited Fire Risk Assessor, I bring both workplace safety and fire safety expertise to the organisations I support.

But qualifications are only part of the picture. Listening, asking useful questions and explaining things clearly matter just as much.

Practical Advice. Personal Support.

You know your organisation. My role is to help you understand and manage its risks.

That might mean walking through your premises together, reviewing a concern, helping develop a workable procedure or turning assessment findings into a prioritised action plan.

I’ll explain what I’ve found, why it matters and what a sensible response looks like. Where something needs urgent attention, I’ll be clear. Where a straightforward improvement will do the job, I’ll keep it proportionate.

Whether you need a one-off fire risk assessment or ongoing support, you’ll work directly with someone who takes the time to understand your organisation.

Beyond the Clipboard

Away from work, I enjoy the countryside, travelling and spending time in the South West.

Working across the Midlands and the South West gives me the opportunity to meet people running all sorts of organisations. Understanding what matters to them—and helping them move forward with greater confidence—is one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
