Our Story

At JCH Safety, we believe that every person deserves to go home safe at the end of their working day. Founded in 2014, our independent consultancy was built on a simple promise: to bridge the gap between complex safety regulations and practical, real-world business operations. 

We work closely with small-to-medium enterprises, multi-academy trusts (MATs), and local venues that need top-tier safety expertise but do not require a full-time, in-house safety manager. By focusing on practical protection rather than rigid paperwork, we help our clients protect their staff, safeguard their reputations, and improve workplace productivity. 

JCH Safety is owned and managed by Jonathan Hegarty, a Chartered Occupational Safety and Health Practitioner and third-party accredited Fire Risk Assessor. 

Jonathan graduated from Coventry University in 2000 and has spent over 20 years managing workplace safety across construction, refurbishment, education, warehousing, and logistics. His unique approach stems from mastering two distinct disciplines—occupational health and fire safety—allowing him to understand both workplace design and building risks simultaneously. 

Jonathan is deeply passionate about proactive prevention. He firmly believes that with the right guidance, zero workplace accidents is an achievable goal for any organisation. 

Professional Accreditations & Memberships:
Jonathan holds key industry credentials including OSHCR registration, IFSM/TFRAR fire risk assessment accreditation, and memberships with the IFE and IIRSM.

Operating across the Midlands and the South West Jonathan balances rigorous safety inspections with personal pursuits in the countryside and travel.

We offer flexible support tailored to your organisation's needs, including annual retained services and ad-hoc hourly or daily consultancy.
